About Us

Combat Hunger in South Sudan (CHISS) is a dynamic and passionate South Sudanese owned agricultural social organization founded in 2024 with the aim to fight hunger and promote food security in the country. Founded with a strong belief in the power of agriculture to transform lives, CHISS has been working tirelessly since its inception to develop and implement comprehensive food security programs that provide immediate relief while also fostering long-term self-sufficiency and resilience among the local population. The need for such an organization arose due to the dire situation of food insecurity in South Sudan.

The vast population in the country has long been relying on food aid delivery from the international NGOs and import from the neighbouring countries as the years of political, social and economic instability have significantly impacted the agricultural activities in the country. In this scenario, CHISS recognized the urgent need for action and stepped forward with a determined mission – to combat hunger and create sustainable solutions for food security. CHISS’s approach towards achieving this goal is multifaceted. We recognize that simply providing short-term relief is not enough to address the root causes of hunger

Therefore, we combine both immediate aid efforts with long-term strategies that build lasting resilience within communities. By working together with local communities, government and other stakeholders, we aim to empower youth and local farmers through education, training, and resources so they can become self-sufficient in producing their own food. Combat Hunger in South Sudan (CHISS) is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of people struggling with food insecurity. Our holistic approach towards combating hunger through sustainable agriculture development has already impacted countless lives positively within the local communities and across the Country.
